40% of business registrations in 2011 were foreign

  • PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald)-  Almost 40 percent of the 3,090 business registrations were foreign in 2011,  mostly from China, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand, the Ministry of Commerce said.

    Sectors included garments, agriculture, tourism, transportation, telecommunications and mining.

    In the first 11 months of 2011, the Council for the Development of Cambodia approved $6 billion in investment. The biggest investors were British, Chinese, South Korean, Vietnamese, and Malaysian.
