PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - Cambodia has received $2.1 billion in investment from Vietnam, making it the most popular investment destination after Laos, the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.The report on Thursday said Vietnamese investment commitments totaled $3.4 billion in Laos and $1.8 billion in Venezuela, the third most popular destination.
Other major destinations were Russia, Peru, Malaysia and Mozambique, it said.
Some of the biggest Vietnamese projects abroad in 2012 will include the $806 million Sesan II hydropower plant and the $275 million Sekong III hydropower plant, both located in northeast Cambodia, the report said.
