  • Lipstick is the moral booster for womens and very much important to give her the self confidence and self respect. There is no doubt that the lips plays the most sensual part for our face. They play a real important role while communicating with others as they draw others ‘ attention very easily. Lipstick is used to beautify lips but if applied shabbily, it looks ugly. Before putting on lipstick clean lips with a piece of cotton wool swab-dipped in cleansing milk. Lipstick does not give lustre if lips are not clean. Do not use soap because lips have soft skin. Put on foundation cream, let it dry and apply lipstick by first drawing an outline followed by filling it in.
Lipstick will last longer if you fill in your lips with the liner first. If you’re using light lipstick, try a nude liner. Then slick your lipstick on top. Always use cold cream to remove lipsticks as this will help to soften and condition lips. After removing lipstick always dab on a bit of moisturizer.

Lipstick can be applied with a brush but it requires skill and practice. If lipstick spreads on lips, apply powder on lips, let it dry and then apply lipstick. After applying light tinge, keep a tissue paper between your lips and wipe off extra lipstick with tissue paper. Then use dark color. Blend both the colors with a brush. Use of vaseline or cream gives lustre to lips after applying lipstick.

Lipstick comes in traditional tubes, small pots, lip pencils, or in pencil-like automatic applicators. Lip color may be sold in a single color or in palette-like collections. Lipstick can change the look of lips – broad lips can be made to look thin and vice versa and the shape of lips can also be moulded to some extent. If you have a small face use light shade on lower lip and darker tinge on upper lip. Choose color as per your age, the occasion and the clothes you are wearing. Natural shades suit the girls. Working women should not use bright shades while going to work.

Young women with fair complexion between eighteen and twenty-five should use pink shades. If you have a broad mouth, use light shade lipstick. If your lower lip is protruding out, use dark shade lipstick in the middle of the lips and draw light outline. Do not re-touch on a stale lipstick. It does not shine. Shining lip liner could be used for outlining matte lips. This looks very trendy. Whenever applying lip liner always start from the center and then move towards the corner.

    Applying Lipsticks Tips

First prime your lips with a good base of foundation and powder to remove all color from your lips.

Continue the line of the upper lip, keeping your mouth closed and relaxed. Use short strokes, as they are easier than a continuous line.

On the lower lip, work form the center to the corners.

Work some lipstick into a brush and fill the outline of the lips.

To make lips look larger follow the outer edge of the natural lip line making sure not to go over the natural lip line.

Blot to remove any excess color and to even out the texture.

    Don’ts
Don’t rub your lips together, since this will cause the lip color to smear off your lips onto other parts of your face.

Try not to use abrasive colors such as: bright reds, oranges, or pinks.

Color isn’t needed all the time. Nude works great for just a day out with the girls, and can be the prettiest for you.

    How to Apply Lipstick

First prime your lips with a good base of foundation and powder to remove all color from your lips.

Outline your lips using a sharp lip liner pencil. The shade of your pencil should be same as that of lipstick. For the upper lips, start from the centre and move out towards the corner of the mouth. For the lower lip, work from side to side.

Using a lip brush will give you a more professional look. Just swipe the brush over the lipcolor you want (be it a lipstick or pot, doesn’t matter) and apply after lipliner. But if you’re in a rush, this may not be the best idea.

Open your mouth wide and brush the color into the corners, so the edges must not remain unfilled.

Use Vaseline or cream to give shine to your lips after applying lipstick.

Apply lighter shades of lipstick for the appearance of fuller lips, and darker colors if you want your lips to look smaller(thinner).

If you wear braces, but don’t like them, you might find lip gloss to work better than lipstick if you don’t want to draw so much attention there.
