  • PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - Producers of the Equity Weekly Show broadcast by Television Kampuchea (TVK) in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) said Friday they were unable to air a segment on economic land concessions as planned.

"Due to unexpected technical issues we have encountered, we are unable to broadcast the land concession story this Sunday," a statement said, adding that it would instead be aired the following week. "We apologize for any inconvenience caused."

To replace the postponed segment, the statement said, TVK will instead rebroadcast the previous week's story on the recent crackdown on illegal fishing.

Producers announced the story on economic land concessions on Friday morning, saying that other segments of the weekly program would focus on the dangers of cigarette smoke, the excessive use of plastic bags in Cambodia and efforts to clean up Phnom Penh.

The show is broadcast domestically every Sunday evening after the national news around 8 p.m. and rebroadcast at 1 p.m. Monday and 3 p.m. Friday as well as 1 a.m. Wednesday (Tuesday 1 p.m. US East Coast, 10 a.m. West Coast) on the TVK satellite channel.
