  • PHNOM PENH (Herald) - As the Cambodian film industry expands, to too does demand for plastic surgery, even among some stars who have striking natural beauty.

“Plastic surgery is not a bad idea for artists. But some stars are greedy to be even more beautiful than they are,” says Doung Sorida, chairwoman of Cambodia Super Models.

The 29-year-old actress said she believed plastic surgery should be for ugly people only. “I notice that many Cambodian stars have only their nose or chin operated on. But nowadays breast surgery is very popular."

Actress and singer Kim Liza agrees. “I’m not interested in such surgery which is not suitable,” she said. “I'm satisfied with what I have and I don’t want to be operated on.”

"I suggest to people who want to be operated on that they limit operations to some parts of the body. For example, their nose or chin. But they should not have breast operations because they may have a serious impact."
