  • ODOR MEANCHEY (CEN) - Thai soldiers have shot dead three Cambodians trying to cut down trees on Thai territory, a source said.

The bodies of the three were being returned to Cambodia on Monday, the source said.  The victims, who were killed on Friday, were identified as Chea Kimlong, 20, Chong Ny, 57, and Chan Na, 17. All lived in Tropeang Prasat district in Odor Meanchey province.

Touch Ra, communications officer at the international border at Chuam, said on Sunday that he had not received any information about the shootings and that Thai soldiers normally inform Cambodia if they arrest or shoot Cambodian people.
