According to thesoutheastasiaweekly - National Union Alliance chamber of Cambodia (NUACC) announced on Tuesday that Cambodia had earned about 4 billion dollars from exporting garment and shoe products in 2011.
“The exporting of clothes and shoe products in 2010 was worth about 4 billion and last year, it valued about three million dollars.” it said, adding it increased more than estimated figure.
It added: 50 garment factories opened in 2011 and In Cambodia, currently, it has about 500 garment and shoe factories. In 2011, the conflict of labor stood 185 cases, and about 15 cases per month. 33 cases for strike were conducted by the workers.
“A worker could get 95 dollar to 155 dollar per month in average, according to their work period,” Som Oun, president of NUACC said, adding that at the same time, garment and shoe factories currently offered about 450,000 workers who contributed their salaries to improving the local living condition and about 1, 350,000 Khmer got the benefit from the factories.
Cambodia garment and shoe product mostly exported to European and the United States, which absorbed nearly 80 per cent of total products in the country and offered duty for Cambodian products.
