Chinese Embassy opens its new Office Building

  • Chinese Embassy is set to open in Phnom Penh on December 28 in order to inaugurate its new office building, strengthening diplomatic ties with Cambodia in all fields.
    The inauguration was officiated by the head Cambodian diplomat, H.E. Hor Namhong, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the host Chinese Ambassador H.E. Pan Guangxue, witnessed by government officials from both nations, and foreign members of diplomats.
    “Our embassy has stood on this beautiful and dynamic land for more than 50 years. It has witnessed the amazing changes taking place in Cambodia, from war to peace and from backwardness to prosperity,” said the Chinese Ambassador. “We take sincere pride and appreciation of every development that Cambodia has achieved.”
    “With the social development of Cambodia, we begin rebuilding this embassy compound putting it to use in August this year,” he said.
    “With the upcoming New Year 2012, may the traditional friendship between China and Cambodia continue to yield fruitful developments,” he wishes.
    Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at the embassy residence, H.E. Hor Namhong, expressed congratulations to the Chinese ambassador and the embassy’s staff for getting the new office building.
    “I believe that the new building will help the embassy’s staff to work more efficiently in order to make closer bilateral cooperation in terms of trade, investment and social and economic development,” he said.
