PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - The opposition Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) said Thursday that the international community would help party leader Sam Rainsy return to Cambodia and join the upcoming campaign for commune council elections.
"He did nothing wrong, he's a nationalist. He has to be back in the country," party spokesman Yim Sovann. "We have no fear. Sam Rainsy Party is strong enough, we have the power of the people."
However, Prime Minister Hun Sen said there would be no political deal and that legal cases were matters for the courts.
