Apple may release iPad 3 in the coming month
The latest whispers on the street concerning a first week announcement of the iPad 3 at (most probably) the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, California, is gaining traction, and normally, this will be followed by hardware availability a couple of weeks after the announcement. We also know that the display for the iPad 3 will be very different from the current one in terms of resolution count, despite being the same size. Hardware improvements are one thing, but we are definitely as interested in the pricing details too. Do you think Apple will continue to sell the iPad 2 alongside the newly released iPad 3 when March rolls around? If that is the case, then surely the iPad 3 will most probably take over the iPad 2′s current price points in the different configurations, while the iPad 2 will be dropped a rung in the price structure, as there is plenty of demand for a sub-$500 tablet. This does not bode well for Android tablet manufacturers who tend to cater to the majority of this group, as cannibalization of sales is bound to occur then. What do you think?
