Bigger, Stronger, Faster. The LG Thrill 4G for AT&T sports dual-core, dual-channel and dual-memory architecture that lets you to record, view and share 3D content. Let the 3D fun begin!
For 3D recording, the smartphone incorporates a dual-lens 5-megapixel camera on its back. A 4.3-inch 3D WVGA screen lets you view 3D content without requiring you to use glasses; it's a so-called glasses-free 3D screen. 3D content can be shared via a built-in HDMI 1.4 connection or Wi-Fi to 3D HDTVs and monitors. Users can also upload 3D videos to YouTube.
A brand new dual-core, dual-channel 1GHz TI OMAP4 processor and an unknown amount of DDR2 RAM is driving the 3D machinery, a configuration that should naturally also make everything that doesn't fall into the 3D category shine brighter than usual. For instance, while you can record 720p HD video in 3D, you can record 1080p HD video in regular 2D. The LG Thrill 4G uses H.264 SEI for recording 3D content.
AT&T describes the LG Thrill 4G as one of the first smartphones to deliver a glasses-free 3D experience to U.S. customers, and says that 3D content will be offered via the "LG 3D Space", which houses 3D games, video clips and images. The smartphone comes preloaded with 16GB memory (8GB internal storage plus an 8GB microSD card). The LG Thrill 4G is based on the Android 2.2 platform.
AT&T says that they've now completed the deployment of HSPA+ to virtually 100% of its network, and as revealed by its name, the LG Thrill 4G is one of the smartphones to support it. Additionally, the smartphone offers a 1500 mAh battery.
The LG Thrill 4G has yet to receive an exact release date, but AT&T promises that it'll be released in the coming months.
